Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
