Fresh Details Emerge Regarding the Finding of the Reiner Couple's Bodies

New information has come to light regarding the shocking deaths of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their residence home on Sunday.

A Discovery

As detailed in an account citing a confidential source, a therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the house. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

Upon entering the residence, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had gone with her contacted 911. Following this, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently being held and denied bail.

Correcting the Record

The confidential informant challenged several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.

Additionally pushed back against published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement applies to accounts of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. While the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that claims of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

As stated by law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some media reports noted the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the residence. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
