Iran is willing to resume atomic talks with Washington as long as it is treated with "respect" and "honor", Iran's foreign minister has stated.

Abbas Araghchi said exclusively dialogue worked, and revealed fresh requests had been made by mediators to reopen talks with the US government. He said Iran did not have unreported enrichment locations, and Tehran could not yet permit the global atomic watchdog to access struck enrichment centers for protective measures.

Navigating a Challenging Route

Araghchi is navigating a challenging path since Iran does not want appear to be operating from a stance of disadvantage, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had emerged stronger defensively and mentally from the joint assault on its nuclear sites in June.

He was speaking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to enrich uranium domestically that it will never give up" – the key factor of the stalemate in the previous talks.

Previous Talks Abruptly Concluded

The prior phases of discussions between the United States and Iran were ended suddenly and bitter termination on 12 June when the Israeli government, with Washington's assistance, targeted Iran's enrichment centers in a fortnight-long engagement that culminated with Donald Trump declaring the locations had been destroyed. Subsequently, Western states employed their right to restore UN-wide sanctions, but Iran asserts they have not had a significant effect.

Ideal Resolution Proposed

Iranian officials claimed they felt they had attained a "ideal resolution" to the enrichment issue in previous talks, when it was decided an Iran-based consortium with Washington's engagement could refine atomic fuel. Both sides would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have remained and the US could be assured that Iran's nuclear programme was exclusively peaceful.

It had not been agreed in the negotiations that Washington's technical specialists could function within Iranian territory, but that was a natural consequence of the consortium proposal. Officials claimed three times they had secured an understanding with Washington's diplomat Steve Witkoff only for the agreement to fall apart due to "detractors in America".

Current Situation

Tehran representatives said the partnership proposal was now off the table, but it seems very probable the suggestion could be revived in various formats if discussions restart.

The US president last week said he had been obtaining communications that Iran wanted to resume discussions, but confidentially Iran's diplomats claim they are not yet getting coherent offers from Washington either directly or from key regional mediators, such as Qatar, the Egyptian leadership, the Omani authorities and the Saudi kingdom. The Iranian foreign ministry has been criticized of inactivity in the aftermath of Trump's direct instinctive approach, but Tehran states diplomacy is not part of a show.

Diplomatic Standpoint

In his address to the forum, intended to paint the US as a hegemonic power that exploits the notion of global regulations, Araghchi declared the fortnight-long engagement showed the dispute could not be settled by military means. He stated the strikes started with a US demand for an total Iran submission and ended with an absolute demand for a halt to hostilities.

Iran is assured the opening assaults from Tel Aviv were executed with complete American awareness and cooperation, making trust difficult to restore.

Diplomacy Continues the Primary Resolution

The foreign minister said: "It was not Iran that had fled negotiations; it was America and the Western nations that had repeatedly sought to enforce their will during the discussions. Negotiations can still be alive and continues the primary resolution to address conflicts, but its criteria, rules and principles must be followed."

"Provided that they talk to the citizens of Tehran with the approach of respect and honor, they will get a reply in the identical approach."

Repair and Reconstruction

In what is described by Iranian officials as the struggle of repair and recovery, Araghchi stated he was assured Iran's security strengths "are considerably enhanced than prior to 13 or 14 June of this year. Every aspect of our defense have been reestablished. We learned multiple understandings from this conflict; we have discovered our own weaknesses and the shortcomings of the adversary."

He continued: "We managed to survive this conflict. Our atomic expertise, which they aimed to obliterate, stays intact. The facilities and gear, if eliminated, will be reconstructed; what is crucial is the will of the citizens of Tehran and then the unity of the country that they targeted, but did not succeed to destroy. The Iranian people have become stronger, more integrated, and more endorsing of the administration and the state in the wake of this assault."
