Iran Reports Strike on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
