Shock as Renowned South African DJ Killed in the City of Johannesburg.
A prominent South African radio and club DJ has been murdered in the metropolis of Johannesburg, causing national outrage across a country struggling with persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was attacked in the downtown area on a Tuesday afternoon.
Officials stated the 40-year-old entertainer was confronted by three individuals, one of whom opened fire on him before fleeing on foot.
The reason of the shooting has not been established and no one has been arrested have been made, according to authorities.
The Fatal Incident
Law enforcement revealed that Stock was ambushed as he was departing from a premises near the city center landmark.
He had devoted time at the building managing the setup of security systems, which had been controversially occupied by squatters, it was reported.
"The report indicates the man was confronted by three unidentified men after parking his vehicle, and they shot at him before running from the location on foot," a police statement said.
Surveillance tape showed a suspect with dreadlocked hair and dressed in what appeared to be a guard's attire firing shots on Stock before fleeing.
The DJ sought to escape after he was hit but succumbed to his injuries a short distance away.
Police added that Stock had an unused firearm and it was not a robbery during the attack.

"Our information indicates they walked a long distance after the shooting, and investigators have been tracking them to establish their whereabouts," remarked an authority figure.

His family member, Nicole Stock, stated the family was struggling to come to terms with the loss.
"Words fail me. I cannot express the pain," were her words.
"Everyone understood he was a champion for numerous individuals. He addressed issues courageously about issues not many people were willing to discuss. This is a tremendous loss."
She urged the citizens to refrain from sharing explicit content from the scene, explaining this was an incredibly difficult time, particularly for Stock's three sons.
