The Red Devils Poised to Sign Germany Striker Lea Schüller away from the Bavarian Giants
The Women's Super League club are finalising sealing the deal for prolific German forward Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer away from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Marquee Acquisition for United
The forward, with six months remaining on her contract, is known as a prolific goalscorer for her club and the national team. She has scored more than 100 goals for the German giants and found the net 54 times in 82 appearances for Germany. This signing will be seen as a major signing for the WSL side.
Departure from Bayern has been anticipated after she was seen holding back emotions while applauding the German club’s supporters following a victory over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
It was reported in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its top forwards. According to reports, the formalities for the move have now been completed.
Consistent Goal Threat to Boost the Attack
The 28-year-old’s arrival should represent a significant uplift to the team's attacking options. She has been remarkably consistent with her finishing in Germany’s top flight.
- For seven straight seasons, up to and including the most recent campaign, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She won the Golden Boot in 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

Securing the German international coincides with a period when the club seem to be gathering momentum.

- The contract extension for Japanese midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a popular figure since joining in 2023.
